Analyst, Appeal Division:
The appeal analyst provides support to the Appeal Division Board members by, reviewing and analysing the offenders’ file and appeal submission(s) as well as obtaining clarification of file information from institutional personnel, or completing a more thorough analysis of the file if specific information is requested by Board Members. The appeal analyst also prepares a report that contains verification of the procedural safeguards, legal timeframes, and any issues noted during the analysis. The analyst also provides support by proofreading the Board members’ decisions to ensure consistency with style and format of Appeal decisions.
Project Support Officer:
The Project Support Officer will report to the Managers of the Policy and Operations Division, which will allow them to gain experience in a variety of areas. This includes researching, collecting, preparing, reviewing policies, procedures, statistical data, project information, project files, consultation results, and assisting in the preparation of various types of administrative and policy or procedural information. This position also provides business support for system applications.
The Parole Board of Canada (PBC) contributes to public safety with its core responsibility for the controlled, timed and gradual release of offenders back into society. The skills and talents of our staff are central to this work.

These positions expose the incumbent on a daily basis to information that could potentially be disturbing and offensive. Consequently the appointed person must be capable of performing the duties in an objective manner when exposed to such information.
The immediate need is to staff two (2) full time, indeterminate positions.
As a result of this selection process, a pool of qualified candidates may be created to staff positions of various tenures such as (indeterminate, deployment, specified period appointment, acting, assignment or secondment) and with various language profiles.

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in applying legislation, regulations or policies.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relating to the duties of the position to be filled.
EXPERIENCE:
FOR BOTH POSITIONS:
- Experience working within the criminal justice system;
- Experience working with government automated Case Management Systems*.
- Experience working with the Offender Management System (OMS), Integrated Decision System (IDS) or other automated system, which derives its information from the Offender Management System (i.e. RADAR, CRIMS, Infopol, Victims Module (CRM), etc.).
*Automated case management system is defined as an electronic system that is used to assess, track, monitor, and evaluate actions and services to meet an individual’s needs.
FOR THE ANALYST, APPEAL DIVISION'S POSITION ONLY:
- Experience working within an administrative tribunal or similar environment;
