Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) continues to renew the nation-to-nation, Inuit-Crown, government-to-government relationship between Canada and First Nations, Inuit and Métis; modernize Government of Canada structures to enable Indigenous peoples to build capacity and support their vision of self-determination; and lead the Government of Canada's work in the North.

The main duties of the position are:
- Advance the contaminated sites portfolio (Keno Hill, Mt. Nansen, Clinton Creek, Ketza River, Arctic Gold and Silver Mine, Venus Mine and Devolution Transfer contaminated sites), and interface with the internal Northern Contaminated Sites Program (NCSP) HQ personnel, Yukon Government and First Nation Governments.
- Currently, this position will focus on ensuring program requirements are met, provide day-to-day project management work and general project management assistance to other contaminated sites portfolio project managers.

Intent of the process

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in environmental studies, environmental management, environmental sciences or some other speciality relevant to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience analyzing and reporting on scientific data

2. Experience in environmental impact assessments, environmental site assessments, contaminated sites assessments, contaminated sites remediation, and/or mine site remediation.

3. Experience in project or program management

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION:
Honours degree or masters degree in environmental sciences.

Degree equivalency

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience in environmental assessment, permitting and regulatory processes

2. Experience in mining projects and/or mine closure/reclamation projects

3. Experience with large scale construction projects

4. Experience working with Indigenous communities

5. Significant experience in project management (more than 3 years)

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE:
1. Knowledge of the implications of the unique northern environment on operational, technical and environmental solutions to contaminated site assessment and remediation.
2. Knowledge of environmental legislation, polices and/or programs in Yukon.
