The CRTC is a federal administrative tribunal of about 500 employees that serves Canadians as citizens, creators and consumers, and is committed to providing them with access to a world-class communications system. The CRTC is a division of the Federal Public Administration under the responsibility of the Minister of Canadian Heritage,
pursuant to Schedule I-1 of the Financial Administration Act. CRTC’s employees are
employees of the public service.
At the CRTC, we engage in a wide range of activities. As part of our role in ensuring Canadians have access to a world-class communications system, we supervise and regulate various services on which we all rely. For example, we work to encourage and enhance competition in telecommunications services, such as Internet broadband and mobile phone. We promote Canadian culture and the development of compelling and diverse content by and for Canadians through the licensing of TV and radio services. We also work to reduce spam,unsolicited telecommunications and other nuisance communications.

Education and/or Occupation Certification:
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, may serve as an alternative to the minimum education standard.
Experience:
E1 Recent and significant experience*providing communications expertise, guidance and recommendations to clients and management on digital media concepts
E2 Recent and significant experience* optimizing video and digital products for social media campaigns.
E3 Recent experience leading photo/video shoots and working on pre- and post-production activities.
E4 Recent experience* producing communications materials for multimedia and video productions using the following software:
• Adobe Premier
• Adobe After Effect
• Adobe Lightroom
• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe Illustrator
• Adobe Acrobat
• Microsoft Office Suite
*Recent experience (within 3 years), significant experience (3 years)

Information on language requirements
Knowledge:
K1 Knowledge of the Government of Canada’s Policy on Communications and Federal Identity
K2 Knowledge of video and photography production processes as well as the latest technology, emerging trends and possibilities.
K3 Knowledge of social media specifications, and the principles, best practices and technical specifications to optimally manage a YouTube channel and prepare text and video content for it.
Abilities & Skills:
A1 Ability to organize, plan and manage multiple digital projects simultaneously in order to meet tight deadlines.
A2 Ability to communicate effectively orally.
A3 Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
A4 Ability to use a variety of electronic equipment, such as video cameras and audiovisual equipment and systems.
A5 Ability to develop and adapt video scripts for a variety of internal and external audiences.
A6 Ability to identify communications or marketing needs, requirements and objectives; to develop elements of communications plans which require multimedia components.

Information on employment equity
The work requires sitting at a workstation for long period of time, when reviewing and creating materials of varying levels of complexity and focus on details of the mixture of text, graphics and video footage, and when attending meetings.
Physical effort in setting up exhibits/displays and conduct photography and video shoots, including manipulating equipment.
