EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with acceptable specialization in social science*, statistics, library/archival work or a law-related field.
*"Social science" includes economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, history, psychology, geography, criminology, and other disciplines associated with social science. "Library/archival work" includes gallery and museum function
EXPERIENCE
Experience as a practitioner in archives, library science, information management, or recordkeeping
Experience in planning and conducting research projects relating to archives, library science, information management, or recordkeeping
Experience in providing written recommendations to senior management* or external stakeholders** on complex issues***
Experience in working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders**
* "Senior management" refers to director-level and above.
**"External stakeholders" refers as anybody outside the candidate's immediate unit
***"Complex" is defined as activities involving one or more of the following: multiple sub-issues or related issues, multiple stakeholders, critical timelines, a high degree of visibility or political sensitivity and having a major impact on the department, government or the public.
ASSET EDUCATION
Bachelor's or Master's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in archival studies, library studies, information science, history, or in a field relevant to the position.
ASSET EXPERIENCES
Working experience in the field of information management or recordkeeping within the Government of Canada
Working experience related to acquisition or management of digital resources and their metadata
Working experience in standards development relating to archives, library science, information management, or recordkeeping
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)

Candidates must meet all essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.
The assessment process is as follows:
1. The Education and Experience (essential and assets) will be assessed through the answers to the pre-screening questions;
2. The following Knowledge and Ability will be assessed through the online written exam:
- Knowledge of principles and practices of archives, library science, information management, or recordkeeping;
- Knowledge of current federal legislation, issues, and trends related to archives, library science, information management, or recordkeeping; and
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
3. An interview will be conducted to assess the following qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively orally
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while dealing with change in priorities.

4. A reference check will be conducted to assess the following Personal Suitability qualifications:

5. The ability to communicate in writing will be assessed through the pre-screening questionnaire and the online written exam.
