Intent of the process

A qualified pool of candidates may be established from this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada in Winnipeg, Regina, Calgary and Edmonton with various tenures (Indeterminate, Acting, Term, Deployment, Assignment, Secondment)

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in land survey theory and practice or other related field such as geomatics, geosciences or remote sensing.

Degree equivalency

Certification:
- Eligible for a license to practice land surveying with a professional land surveying regulatory body in Canada.

Experience:
- Recent and Significant experience* in the provision of a full range of Geomatics services in executing Real Property** projects with various degrees of complexity and magnitude.

- Experience in managing human and financial resources

- Experience in planning and managing the delivery of Geomatics products and/or services

- Experience in providing expert technical and strategic advice to client organizations and/or senior management in areas related to surveys, spatial and/or geospatial data management.

*Recent and significant experience is defined as having provided geomatics services for real property projects of varying degrees of complexity and type for a minimum of eight years within the last 12 years including at least five years of Canadian experience.

**Real Property projects are defined as new construction or renovations (e.g. interior fit-up) for buildings, structures, improvements, and other utilities on, above, or below the surface of the land.

Asset Qualifications:
- Holds a license to practise cadastral surveying on Canada Lands

- Experience in developing corporate-level policies, standards, processes or best practices for delivery of Geomatics products and services.

- Experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies for the services of professional consultants in surveys and spatial information management.

- Experience in the application of information management policies and practices as it relates to Real Property spatial information holdings.

Public service employees found qualified in this process may be considered for acting, assignment, deployment or secondment.

Candidates from outside the Federal Public Service will be required to pay for their own travel expenses for various phases of testing/assessment.

A random or top down selection of candidates may be used in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
