Duties

KEY TASKS / PRINT OPERATOR - INSERTION( STREAM 1):
1. Use of printing machinery and inserting equipment intended for the production of documents
2. Plan its production in accordance with the priorities established
3. Follow all specific work instructions related to each product
4. Perform general maintenance of machinery and production equipment
5. Participate in team meeting, group discussions in order to improve the work process
6. The work is done in an industrial environment were printing equipment noise and high speed of insertion is frequent
7. Requirement to wear the appropriate protective equipment at all time
8. Requirement to lift, manipulate boxes of material weighing varies around 5-25kg

1. Supervised a team of work (operators Printing / insertion)
2. Plan the production in accordance with the priorities established and share the plan to the work team
3. Enforce the work instructions specific to each product
4. Participate in team meeting, group discussions in order to improve the work process
5. Use of printing machinery and inserting equipment intended for the production of documents
6. The work is done in an industrial environment were printing equipment noise and high speed of insertion is frequent
7. Requirement to wear the appropriate protective equipment at all time
8. Requirement to lift, manipulate boxes of material weighing varies around 5-25kg

Work environment

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:
The print centers (CI) are responsible for service providing of printing, insertion and distribution on behalf of client departments and agencies at the national level, services including the issuance of cheques, the printing of private documents, reporting and processing of special mailings. The production centers are responsible for producing cheques on behalf of the Receiver General of Canada.

DETAILS ON THE WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work is done in an industrial environment and requires the use of machinery of production (printer and inserter).

Within the Operations Sector, noise from printing equipment, high speed insertion material as well as forklifts is almost constant.

The work requires wearing protective clothing and equipment, as there is exposure to dust and noise.

The work in a context of tight deadlines and the need to deal with situations of crisis, changing priorities and to complaints from clients may be a source of stress for some people.

The work requires some physical effort, discomfort could arise as a result of extended periods of work in the standing position and repetitive movements.

Intent of the process

This process will be used to create a pool of candidates to fill temporarily (assignment, secondment, temporary, casual and determined) or permanent (indeterminate) full time, part-time,contract as required/ on a call-back basis, DA-PRO-03 and DA-PRO-05 positions with various linguistic profiles in the office of SPAC, Quebec and Winnipeg Region.

Operational Requirements:
- Be willing and able to bend down, to lift and transport items weighing up to 10 kg, and to safely use warehouse equipment.

- Be willing to rotate form one section of production to the other.

- Be willing to work in a noisy environment.

- Be willing and able to work in a dusty and noisy environment.

- Be willing and available to work shifts (day and night).

- Be willing and able to do overtime, as needed.

- Be willing and able to wear CSA-approved footwear and any other personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
