We’re looking for a highly motivated, innovative and passionate individual with recognized expertise in social media and digital communications to fill a Senior Communications Advisor position.
As Canada’s Financial Regulator, OSFI plays a key role in maintaining public confidence in the Canadian financial system. While the financial industry and financial specialists are familiar with OSFI, few people beyond this audience segment know who we are and what we do. The Communications and Consultations Division is now seeking to increase OSFI’s visibility through social media.
As Social Media Juggernaut, you will be part of an energetic and multi-talented team in which you will use your expertise to anticipate issues, identify trends and seek opportunities. You are:

Specifically, you will:
• Oversee the social media activities for the whole organization.
• Lead the development of a robust social media content strategy to help promote OSFI’s role and mandate to the public.
• Develop and implement an evaluation framework aligned with the social media content strategy.
• Prepare analytical reports for senior management.
• Help promote OSFI’s communications activities, strategies, announcements, and events through multiple social media platforms.
• Provide social media and digital communications advice to senior management.
• Review and provide timely and quality feedback on social media and web activities.
• Seek new and creative opportunities to promote OSFI in an evolving digital landscape.
The immediate need is to staff one position with a language requirement of bilingual imperative CBC/CBC on an indeterminate basis.
A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, term, acting, etc.) and/or security requirements (reliability, secret, etc.) within the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:
- Graduation with a * degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in communications, marketing, business or some other specialty relevant to the position
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
* The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES:
- Recent* and significant** experience in working directly with clients
- Recent* and significant** experience in providing strategic advice to clients, including senior management***, related to communications projects
- Recent* and significant** experience in developing communications strategies, media lines, news releases, or other communications products
- Recent* experience leading projects
*Recent experience refers to experience gained within the last 3 years.
**Significant is defined as depth and breadth of experience normally accumulated with performance of the duties over a period of at least 2 years.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE:

OSFI's Ottawa location is downtown with easy access to shopping, restaurants, gyms, financial institutions and more. The building is less than a five minute walk from the Transitway and from the nearest STO stop.
As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
