The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis.

This selection process may be used to establish a pool of partially qualified and/or qualified candidates, which could be used to staff similar positions at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

EDUCATION:
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with a specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce, economics
OR
- A chartered professional accounting designation (CPA)
OR
- An acceptable combination of education, training and considerable work experience in the finance and accounting domain

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
- Recent and significant* experience in preparing and/or auditing of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS or PSAS).
- Recent and significant* experience in the preparation of financial and variance analysis.
- Experience in using SAP as an integrated financial management system.
- Experience in providing financial and accounting advice to internal stakeholders and senior management

*“Recent and significant experience” means over a period of approximately three (3) years within approximately the last eight (8) years.”

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
