Analyst, Environmental assessments and Species at Risk Act (SARA) permits - Stream 1

Staff 3 full-time indeterminate and term positions in the location indicated for this process.
A pool of qualified candidates may be created and could be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, term, acting, deployment, assignment or secondment) within ECCC.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry, or other science relevant to the position.
Note:
Candidates must always have a degree. Specialization courses must be acceptable and have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required field of specialization.
EXPERIENCE
All streams
E1.Experience in researching, analyzing and synthesizing information, writing technical documents, articles, opinions, recommendations, or scientific reports.
Stream 2
E2.Experience in organizing, taking part in and following up on meetings with various stakeholders in relation to scientific or conservation projects.
E3.Experience in developing agreements or arrangements with external stakeholders.
Stream 3
E4.Experience in planning and managing habitat, species at risk or migratory bird conservation initiatives, projects or programs.
E5.Experience in participating in multidisciplinary projects or programs involving external collaborators (various levels of government, NGOs, First Nations) related to conservation projects.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION (FOR ALL STREAMS)
Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with an acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the position.
EXPERIENCE
ASSET FOR STREAM 1 & 2
AE1.Experience in delivering expertise or technical or scientific advice on the assessment of the environmental effects of proposed projects and their impact on migratory birds, species at risk, and their habitat in Canada.
ASSET FOR STREAM 2
AE2.Experience in engaging internal and external stakeholders.
ASSET FOR STREAM 3
AE3.Experience in planning or managing protected areas or lands.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)

K1.Knowledge of the main conservation issues in Quebec related to species at risk, migratory birds, and habitats.
K2.Knowledge of various stakeholders in the area of conservation and their roles and responsibilities.
Stream 1
K3.Knowledge of federal and provincial environmental assessment processes applicable to Quebec.
Stream 3
K4.Knowledge of Canadian laws related to the environment and wildlife.
