Intent of the process

We are looking for creative, energetic individuals at the IS-04 level to fill several current positions as well as create an anticipatory pool of candidates for future positions .

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education: A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:

Approximately 3 years of experience in communications or a related field. Note that for Stream 8 (Web Services) “recent” is defined as 3 years of experience obtained within the last 3 years. Please see the list below for specific experience required for each stream.

STREAM 1 (Strategic Communications):
•Experience providing strategic communications advice to supervisors or management
•Experience developing and implementing communications plans, projects or strategies with clients or other government departments or stakeholder organizations

STREAM 2(Media Relations):
•Experience working with the media
•Experience responding to media calls and enquiries.
•Experience in the development of media responses and key messages.

STREAM 3 ( Media Monitoring):
•Experience in media monitoring, such as electronic press, newspaper, social media, radio and television.
•Experience in preparing summaries and analyses of media coverage for a variety of audiences.
•Experience in coordinating communications projects and/or strategies with other government departments and/or stakeholder organizations.

STREAM 4 ( Event Coordination):
•Experience planning and coordinating a variety of events
•Experience managing event logistics on a short time-frame and/or within an environment of changing priorities

STREAM 5 ( Social Media):
•Experience working with multiple social media platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube
•Experience creating unique social media content and strategies to build an audience across channels and platforms

STREAM 6 ( Marketing):
•Experience writing, developing, and coordinating the approval of marketing materials (e.g., advertisements, public notices, media plans, marketing plans, promotional items, toolkits, exhibits and displays, etc.) for the general public or specific target audience

STREAM 7 (Creative Services):
•Experience in graphic design and page layout of digital and printed collateral
•Experience using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
•Experience providing design advice to clients
•Experience managing design or publishing projects

STREAM 8 ( Web Services):
•Recent experience providing web-related communications advice to clients and management
•Recent experience in planning and implementing projects related to web communications
