Intent of the process

The inventory will be used to establish a candidate pool for filling current and future vacancies of similar positions with various tenures (term, indeterminate, casual) within the Department of National Defence.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
EDU 1 - Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management, or another specialty relevant to the position; or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
EX1 - Experience installing, configuring, and repairing personal computer systems in a network environment.
EX2 – Experience installing and configuring Windows XP, Windows 7 or Windows 10 operating systems.
EX3 – Experience configuring MS Office 2003, 2010, or 2013 Suite and Internet Explorer
EX4 - Experience in the delivery of computer desktop support services to clients in a corporate network environment.

Minimum acceptable experience (EX1-EX4) is 8 months within the previous 5 years for each of the above criteria.

Asset Qualifications

Education:
AQ1 - Three-year diploma in computer programming/analyst, information systems support or another specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Occupational Certification:
AQ2 - CompTIA A+ Certification
AQ3 - CompTIA Network+ Certification.

Experience:
AQ4 - Experience working with wireless networking.
AQ5 - Experience of basic telecommunications theory and practices.

Conditions of employment

COE1 - Secret security clearance
COE2 - Candidate must hold a valid Province of Ontario Class “G” Drivers License. Drivers abstract must be provided prior to employment.
COE3 - Candidate at management’s discretion must willing to accept deployments between identical IMSS positions at Borden in order to meet operational requirements.
COE4 - Successfully complete department administered written and practical driver’s test to obtain DND 404 (Military Drivers Permit).
COE5 - Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 Kgs in accordance with general safety practices
