The positions to be staffed are located in downtown Ottawa, close to many restaurants and shops. You can run errands on your lunch, take a jog along the Queen Elizabeth parkway, or do yoga on Parliament Hill. The buildings are also equipped with showers.

Intent of the process

A covering letter in 500 words (maximum) "Please give a short description of what you will bring to the department and why we should consider you as a candidate."

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
• A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
• Experience providing client services
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and email software such as Outlook.
• Experience in performing administrative services in at least two (2) of the following:
o Coordinating meetings;
o Coordinating teleconferences and/or videoconferences;
o Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence;
o Data entry;
o Editing and verifying correspondence or reports.
o Human Resources Support
o Finance Support
o Other related task

Ability:
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing

Personal Suitability:
• Reasoning skills

Applicants must complete the Unsupervised Internet Test of Cognitive Ability - Level 1 as part of the screening for this selection process. This test assesses general problem solving and reasoning ability. You will have 60 minutes to complete the test. You must complete the test before you submit your application for this position.
