Assessment accommodation

When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.

This inventory is targeted to Aboriginal persons who will self-declare as an Aboriginal person.

An Aboriginal person is a North American Indian or a member of a First Nation, Métis or Inuit. North American Indians or members of a First Nation include treaty, status or registered Indians, as well as on-status and non-registered Indians. The Aboriginal affiliation will be verified at the time of the appointment.

Casual workers are hired for specified periods that may not exceed 90 working days in one calendar year, in a department or in an agency to which the Public Service Commission (PSC) has exclusive authority to make appointments. The period of casual employment may be for one or more than one term, but is not to exceed 90 working days in a department or agency in a calendar year.

► All job applications must be submitted on-line. For persons with disabilities, should you not be able to apply on-line, you are asked to contact 1-800-645-5605 for assistance.

► It is important that your education and work experience be clearly detailed in your résumé and that you provide the following information in support of your responses:

1) Name of the department or organization where the experience was acquired;
2) Title of the position occupied and duration (month/year) for which you exercised the functions;
3) Specific details of tasks, projects or accomplishments demonstrating the experience was acquired.

As various positions will be filled from this inventory, a complete statement of merit criteria is not provided at this time. The criteria listed are those requirements to be met for entry into the inventory. Should you be contacted for further consideration, the hiring manager will provide a copy of the complete Statement of Merit Criteria (SoMC) for the position being filled. At that time, you may be required to provide additional information to be used for screening and assessment. The merit criteria may be assessed each time using a variety of assessment methods in accordance with the position requirements.

During the application process you will be asked a series of questions in order to determine the type of job(s) that would best suit your qualifications. The inventory will be updated once every six months. You will receive a notice in your applicant account 15 days before the end of your active period to determine whether or not you wish to keep being considered for an additional six months.
