EDUCATION

ED1- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

EXPERIENCE

EXP1- Experience researching and analyzing strategic policy issues, and developing options and recommendations to management.*
EXP2- Experience writing briefing material, reports, or presentations for management.*
EXP3- Experience working collaboratively with internal or external teams, stakeholders or committees.

*Management is defined as, for EC-05 positions – Director or executive equivalent; for EC-06 positions – Director General or executive equivalent.

EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE

AEXP1- Experience in developing Cabinet documents at the federal or provincial level.
AEXP2- Experience in providing secretariat support to senior-level committees, working groups, project teams or other relevant groups.
AEXP3- Experience developing policy advice to support federal/provincial/territorial committees or task groups.
AEXP4- Experience in working on grants and contributions funding policies and procedures.
AEXP5- Experience in engaging (liaising) with statistical agencies or organizations.
AEXP6- Experience in the development of policy in emerging science fields**, or in a health-related field***, or other acceptable related domains.

**Such as genomics, personalised medicine, and synthetic biology.
*** Such as administration, care, policy, program operations.

KNOWLEDGE

AK1- Knowledge of the Government of Canada’s policy development and decision-making process.
AK2- Knowledge of health technologies, both drug and non-drug related.
