In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a science degree from a recognized University with an acceptable specialization in, geography, chemistry, biology, environmental science or other sciences related to the position.

Degree equivalency

• Experience in the delivery of programs related to federal environmental legislation and policies particularly those related to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act.

• Experience in reviewing projects from an environmental perspective, preparing environmental assessments, recommending mitigation strategies for construction projects and undertaking environmental monitoring activities.

• Experience in working with stakeholders to improve environmental performance.

• Minimum 3 years of recent* experience working in the field of environmental management or environmental impact assessment.

* “Recent” experience is defined as having occurred in the past five years

• Knowledge of the key environmental legislation, policies, guidelines, and standards in Canada and how they apply to operational activities.

• Five or more years experience in the assessment, risk management and remediation of contaminated sites.

• Working in a marine environment.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other government departments, Indigenous community members and/or stakeholders.

• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Willingness to travel in small aircraft and vessels to remote locations
• Willingness to work overtime as required for field work
• Physical dexterity in a variety of terrains and climates
