Plans, organises and directs the conduct and reporting for all operational and compliance for the Canadian Forces Fire Marshal (CFFM) reviews and fire risk assessments throughout the Department of National Defence and everywhere there are military operations.
Provides independent and objective advice to senior management on internal compliance review findings, technical and administrative systems design, control and monitoring mechanisms on how to implement remedial action arising of reviews and risk assessment recommendations.
Develops and reviews CFFM's compliance review policies, medium and long-term plans, standards and strategies.
Coordinates CFFM's response to findings and conclusions by corporate and Auditor General about perceived and real deficiencies in the support of all CFFM protection and prevention programs.
Participates as a member of the CFFM management team in the formulation of broad and integrated internal compliance review, evaluation and inspection services.
Manages the human and financial resources associated with on-site reviews and fire risk assessments everywhere there are military operations subject to CFFM standards and regulations.

E1 – Experience providing recommendations to senior management on issues pertaining to risk or compliance.
E2 – Experience producing technical documents or reports.
E3 – Experience leading a team or supervising staff.
E4 – Significant* and recent ** experience in fire fighting and rescue operations in either a full-time or volunteer/part-time on-call capacity
* ‘Significant’ is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated with having performed a broad range of relevant activities over approximately two (2) years.
** ‘Recent’ is defined as experience gained within the last five (5) years.

AEDU - Graduation with a diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
AOC2 – Fire Officer Level 1 (NFPA 1021 Level 1, or equivalent certification acceptable to the employer).
AOC2 – Fire Officer Level 2 (NFPA 1021 Level 2, or equivalent certification acceptable to the employer).
AE1 – Experience producing compliance or fire risk reports.
OC1 – Fire Fighter Level 1 (NFPA 1001 Level 1, or equivalent certification acceptable to the employer).
OC2 – Fire Fighter Level 2 (NFPA 1001 Level 2, or equivalent certification acceptable to the employer).
Willingness to work overtime on short notice
Willingness to travel for 25% of the time (5-7 days a month), including by air
