The immediate need is to staff three (3) ENG-05 positions on an indeterminate basis.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar ENG-05 positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various bilingual language requirements (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC), various security requirements , various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Your résumé.
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in electrical engineering or in another engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position; or eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in a engineering specialty relevant to the position.
All Streams (Stream 1: Distribution Energy Resource; Stream 2: Smart Grid Distribution Network; Stream 3: Bulk Grid and Renewable Energy):
Noteworthy* managerial** experience, in the planning and implementation of resources to carry out research projects with multidisciplinary teams.
Experience in developing recommendations and providing expert advice to senior management and industry executives.
Experience in managing interactions with a large number of stakeholders of various types related to renewable energies and/or electrical networks, including the private sector and national/international associations.
Experience in negotiating and implementing R&D and partnership project agreements.
Recent*** and significant experience **** in the field of renewable energies and/or Smart grids and/or electrical grids.
Experience in the planning and execution of applied research, development or innovative design work in an area of electrical engineering and/or renewable energy.
* Noteworthy means 3 or more years of full-time experience.
** Managerial experience implies staff supervision, establishment of work objectives, assignment of work, evaluation of performance and management of development.
***Recent experience refers to work experience acquired within the last 5 years.
****Significant experience is equivalent to 10 years or more of full-time experience.
Stream 1 (Distribution Energy Resource):
Recent work experience*** on projects including distributed energy resources and exploiting the flexibility of electrical demand.
Experience in the development of standards related to renewable energy.
Experience working and doing research with photovoltaic equipment and their integrations in buildings.
***Recent experience refers to work experience acquired within the last 5 years.
Stream 2 (Smart Grid Distribution Network):
Experience working in the field of electrical energy distribution.
Experience working with technologies and equipment used in smart grid distribution systems.
Experience working with standards in the field of electrical networks.
Stream 3 (Bulk Grid and Renewable Energy):
Experience working in the field of electrical networks, including interconnections between main networks or the integration of renewable energies.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)

Master's degree or doctorate from a recognized post-secondary institution in electrical engineering or in another engineering field relating to the functions of the position.
Eligibility to an engineering title in Canada (https://www.canada.ca/en/treasury-board-secretariat/services/staffing/qualification-standards/core.html) in a field of engineering related to the duties of the position.
Knowledge of Natural Resources Canada's energy departmental priorities.
Knowledge of health and safety codes and standards applying to a research laboratory as well as obligations under the labour code.
