• Prepare purchase orders in SAP for internal clients, send to vendors and follow up to confirm receipt of order, delivery dates, any changes that may be required, etc., and communicate with internal clients order status.
• Complete goods receipts as invoices arrive for Goods and Services received, ensure all appropriate dates and signatures are in place.
• Assist with maintenance of filing system to be able to file and retrieve purchasing and Material Management documents, records, and reports.
• Assist with sourcing materials, requesting quotations, and presenting information gathered to internal clients following Federal Government policies and procedures to procure goods.
• Record all packages that arrive in Federal Receiving, contact appropriate internal clients that materials have arrived, and file documents in corresponding purchasing files.
• Assisting with Low Value and Capital Asset Equipment audits. Working with internal clients to locate and scan all current equipment, updating SAP with any changes required, preparing documents and reports, and working with Government Surplus to dispose of items that are surplus.
• Creating Equipment Master Records for new materials coming in following government procedure and ensuring Barcodes are placed on these materials. Updating Equipment Master Records and Asset Master Records in SAP as needed.
• Assisting in additional projects as requested.
• Assisting with clearing of files for payment.
• Assisting with Year End procedures by following up with Vendors to ensure timely delivery, requesting outstanding invoices, preparing Barcodes for new materials as they arrive, and maintaining regular contact with internal contact to ensure all services and materials are as ordered.
• Perform general office duties, such as maintaining a list of general supplies required, answering calls and redirecting to appropriate clients, signing for packages, etc.
The Kentville RDC delivers an integrated program of agriculture and agri-food research and technology transfer and addresses regionally prominent horticultural crops such as tree fruits, berry crops, wine grapes and vegetables. The centre is located in the town of Kentville, population 6500. It is one of the most beautiful and richest agricultural districts in Atlantic Canada and is in the heart of Nova Scotia’s great apple industry. Kentville’s parks and trail systems are well known throughout the Annapolis Valley and includes wetland sites, bird sanctuaries, easily travelled active transportation routes and mountainside treks.
The immediate intent of the process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position.
A pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions.
