Duties

- Data collection related to chemical analysis of biomaterials.
- Designing experiments, generating and collecting for hypothesis testing.
- Analyzing biomaterials using relevant scientific equipment needed for chemical and physical characterization.
- Provide support in data input, analysis, interpretation of research data, and preparing technical reports for peer review publications.

The Saskatoon Research and Development Centre is one of a network of national agricultural research centres operated by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and conducts research on prairie crops to support the agri-food industry in Western Canada. The Centre emphasizes collaboration between several private and public research organizations and develops integrated crop management strategies for sustainable cropping systems on the Canadian Prairies through combining research in genetics and germplasm development, plant pathology, entomology, plant physiology, biochemistry and molecular biology.

The Saskatoon Research and Development Centre, located in the heart of the Prairies in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, it is located on the campus of the University of Saskatchewan. The research affiliate will work in a plant protein bioproducts research laboratory.

EDUCATION
Currently enrolled in a MSc program in University of Saskatchewan with specialization in Food science/biomaterial chemistry.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience in chemical analysis of biomaterial/food components.
Experience in applying experimental designs, data collection, and data analysis for hypothesis testing.
Experience in using laboratory equipment required for chemical analysis and physical testing of biomaterials.
Experience in working in group environment and performing multiple tasks.
Experience in interpretation of research data and preparing technical reports for peer review/publication.
