The user experience design team at Statistics Canada is currently 17 members strong and growing.
The team has expertise in :
> user experience research and design;
> software development and analysis;
> interaction and graphic design.
That expertise is used on projects of all sizes via ideation and business problem definition, wire framing/prototyping possible solutions and supporting development efforts.

EDUCATION
Two years post-secondary diploma in Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Information Technology, Information Management, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Psychology, or another relevant specialty or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
EX 1 - Recent* and significant** work experience in user experience research and design, interaction design, user interface design/development, and/or usability and accessibility
EX 2 – Recent* and significant** experience with user-centered design (UCD) methodologies, user-centered design practices and principles
EX 3 - Experience investigating and evaluating the cause of usability and accessibility issues and recommend solutions
EX4 - Experience in group facilitation and usability testing techniques
EX5 – Experience in development of user-centric approaches, strategies and plans
EX6 – Experience in building collaborative partnerships
*Recent denotes experience normally acquired within the last five (5) years.
**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a minimum period of three (3) years.
KNOWLEDGE
K1 - Knowledge of visual design and user interface design principles for web sites or applications
K2 - Knowledge of web information architecture, usability, accessibility, interaction design paradigms and design best practices
K3 – Knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of financial and human resources management, administration, contract negotiation and management, and client consultation to effectively plan and manage complex IT Business Line Support service delivery activities
