The position is responsible for a variety of research, analysis, systems management and support functions, such as:
• researching, analyzing and managing non-complex legislation and compliance requests involving the review of relevant statutes, regulations, case law, policies, and past practice, under the supervision of a senior member of the team, on a variety of issues affecting the Canadian financial sector, including federally regulated financial institutions
• managing and administering the team’s data management systems, including data bases, email boxes, work flow systems, and team related areas on OSFI's website
• monitoring and reporting to the team on current and proposed legislation and policies, in Canada and internationally, that may impact the Canadian financial sector including federally regulated financial institutions
• participating in the preparation and public release of team rulings, advisories, compliance instructions and other documents such as material for presentations by OSFI to the public and industry
• participating in the development, maintenance and organization of training materials, including e-learning modules, presentations, summaries and other training methods. Assist with the organization of training sessions and related matters
• ensuring data management and integrity, and developing options to improve systems and match business needs with IT solutions
• acting as liaison between the team and internal and external stakeholders, including IT, Corporate Services and other groups relying on the team’s data and systems, and with counterparts in the Department of Finance, or other government agencies with respect to the position’s key activities
The immediate need is to staff one indeterminate position.
This process may also be used to create a pool of qualified and/or partially qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, term, acting, etc.), various language profiles (Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC, English Essential) and/or security requirements (reliability, secret) within the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

EDUCATION:
- A Canadian degree or diploma in law or legal studies, or a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in public affairs, public administration, government policy, legislation and regulations, or another relevant field, with Canadian courses in law or legal studies, legislation and regulations
EXPERIENCE:
- Recent** experience in the following areas:
• reviewing, researching, analyzing and writing reports on non-complex requests in relation to statutes, regulations, case law and public policy
• carrying out research involving databases, internet, corporate registries and other internal/external data management systems and information tools
• working with software tools such as excel, power-point
• working with information and data management systems
• managing projects and multiple files

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
