Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) works collaboratively with partners to improve access to high quality services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis. Our vision is to support and empower Indigenous peoples to independently deliver services and address the socio-economic conditions in their communities.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions on a term, acting and/or permanent basis in Edmonton, Alberta.

Education:
A Master’s Degree in Nursing, or in a related area specific to the position, from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Occupational Certification:
Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada.
Experience:
Recent and significant* experience working as a Registered Nurse in Home Care Nursing.
*Recent and significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full time performance of duties for a minimum period of 3 consecutive years within the last 5 years

Experience:
• Experience working in/with First Nation communities
Knowledge
• Knowledge of the Community Health Nurses of Canada (CHNC) Standards and how they apply to First Nation communities
• Knowledge of adult education theories and practices
• Knowledge of evaluation of methodologies for learning
• Knowledge of best practices used in area of specialty
Organizational Needs:

Operational Requirements:
• Travel to remote and rural locations on gravel roads or small aircraft
• CPR Certificate, Healthcare Provider Level C, renewed annually
Reliability Status security clearance
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Continuous professional registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta
