In this role, you will manage the office of the Director General and Chief Information Officer of the Public Service Commission. This includes working closely with and supporting the executives within the DG’s team. To do this, you will manage a team of administrators and play a key role in establishing and evolving processes to ensure consistent and efficient support of the Branch and our interactions, support, and response to the Vice President and President’s offices.
The PSC is located in a brand new building at 22 Eddy Street, in the heart of downtown Gatineau. Our location is easily accessible and is located near Terrasses de la Chaudière and just a few kilometers away from downtown Ottawa. Our facilities meet the new 2.0 office concept and is WI-FI ready throughout the building. Our employees also have access to showers, changing rooms and reserved spaces for bicycles, which is ideal for those wishing to travel to work by bike, running or walking while using the nearby bike paths. Moreover, the PSC launched a pilot project for active workstations, which now enables our employees to work while walking on treadmill or pedaling on stationary bike.
The results of this process will initially be used to staff this position on an indeterminate basis. A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff identical or similar positions on an indeterminate or term basis with various linguistic profiles within the Public Service Commission in the National Capital Region.
IMPORTANT: This pool may be used to staff similar positions in other organizations within the core public administration. ED1: A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.
EX1: One year of experience identifying and analyzing problems and making recommendations to management at the director level or above.
EX2: Experience conducting research (problem definition, data collection, analysis and interpretation, reporting).
EX3: Experience writing briefings, policies, or official documents as an outcome of your work.
EX4: Experience working with clients or stakeholders who are internal or external (to your company, organization or department).
EX5: Experience in tracking project status or managing projects.
AED1: Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program.
AED2: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
AEX1: Experience working with information technology professionals.
AEX2: Experience providing advice to managers on policies and procedures relating to complex, sensitive or confidential matters.
