The Department of National Defence (DND) is one of the largest federal government employers, offering over 70 different types of civilian career opportunities. DND's role is to provide services and support to the Canadian Forces (CF) in their operations and missions at home and abroad. The intent of this process is to fill three (3) temporary vacancies: two (2) in Ottawa (English essential), approximately one (1) year with the possibility of extending; and one (1) in Kingston (English essential), approximately one (1) year with the possibility of extending.
This process may be used to create a pool of fully qualified and partially qualified candidates to staff similar position (s) with various tenures, security levels and/or language requirements or in different locations.

Education:
Possession of a Dental Assistant Diploma Level II from an accredited Institution; and
National Dental Assistance Examination Board (NDAEB) certification.
Occupational Certification:
Must have current First Aid and CPR certification.
Experience:
EX1: Significant* and recent** experience working as a level II dental assistant.
EX2: Experience using Microsoft Office Software.
*Significant is defined as experience associated with having performed a broad range of related activities on a regular basis, for the experience factor in question, which could normally be acquired over a period of approximately two years.
**Recent is defined as experience obtained in the last five (5) years.
Asset Qualifications:
Education and/or Training:
Training or certification in First Aid and/or WHMIS.
Experience:
AEX1: Experience using an electronic patient records and scheduler.
AEX2: Experience providing reception, scheduling or other admin duties in a dental office.
