Duties

Youth is one of the RCMP five strategic priorities. The position will be working in the RCMP National Youth Services unit. RCMP National Youth Services is focussed on reducing youth crime as victims and/ or offenders by providing support to front-line police officers, parents, persons working with youth, and youth. The team engages clients (such as parents and children) in-person and online and responds to current issues effecting youth. This position is responsible for supporting the delivery of youth engagement programs, youth crime prevention initiatives, developing evidence-based tools and resources, collaborating with key partners, and raising education and awareness on issues affecting Canadian youth.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB and an RCMP Enhanced Reliability security clearance.

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, secondment, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Should a Public Service (PS) employee be found qualified and selected for appointment, notification regarding the PS appointment will be posted accordingly on www.jobs.gc.ca.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:
ED1: A secondary school diploma or a combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
EX1: Significant* and recent** experience managing several projects and/or programs concurrently.
EX2: Experience researching, analyzing and writing reports.
EX3: Experience writing and editing correspondence for senior management.
EX4: Experience organizing large and/or complex meetings and/or events.

NOTE:
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with performing the duties of the position for a period of at least (2) two years.
**Recent experience is defined as experience obtained within the last 2 years.
