IMPORTANT NOTE:
The current need is to staff one (1) GL-MDO-06 vacancy on an indeterminate seasonal basis and the GL-MDO-05 position is only anticipatory at this time.
This selection process may be used to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with French essential linguistic requirements, various security requirements, various Conditions of Employment and various tenures within the Department of National Defence.

Education
Successful completion of two years secondary school.
Occupational Certification
Must hold a valid Class 1 Quebec driver’s licence with “F” and “M” endorsements or equivalent.
At hiring, candidates must provide an up-to-date driver/operator proficiency record from the SAAQ, failing which their appointment will not take place.
Experience:
**Required only for the GL-MDO-05**
Experience operating buses or tractor/trailers.
**Required only for the GL-MDO-06**
Experience operating dump truck or buses or tractor/trailers or heavy equipment.
**Common to both the GL-MDO-05 and GL-MDO-06**
Asset Education
Driving courses for heavy vehicles or Vocational Studies or a diploma (VDS) in a related field.
Air brake system endorsement.
**Required only for the GL-MDO-05**
One year experience driving a 18,000-liter bowser truck or equivalent, for example, truck delivery of fuel or heating oil.
One year experience driving a school bus.
One year experience driving a deluxe coach.
Experience in the transportation of dangerous goods.
**Required only for the GL-MDO-06**
Experience operating a bulldozer, pay loader and dump truck.
Experience operating a grader.
Experience operating a snowblower.
Experience driving a runway sweeper.
**Common to both the GL-MDO-05 and GL-MDO-06**
Experience in defensive driving on an airfield.
Experience with radio procedures on an airfield.

Mandatory medical examination.
The successful candidate must obtain and maintain a military driver's permit (DND 404/FMT 600), which may require possession of a valid Class 1 driver’s license with F and M endorsements issued by the province of Quebec or equivalent.

You may be assessed using diverse methods of evaluation, such as, standardized tests, written exam, interview, simulation exercise, reference check, etc.

Pass marks will be established for each qualification. However, achieving the pass mark is not a guarantee of an appointment or that candidates will be put through the next stages of the assessment process. A cut-off score may be used and a top-down approach may be used at any step if there is a sufficient number of candidates to meet anticipated staffing needs.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
