As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
The Information Technician role is a key position within the Information Management (IM) Team and works with OSFI business users, management and staff from the IM team on a regular basis. IM Technician will work with the IM team and business users on various projects in support of OSFI’s IM program, ensuring that all resultant documentation is detailed, accurate and complete. The IM Technician should ideally have an understanding of EDMS systems and Records Management applications. Under the supervision of the Manager, Information Management, the IM Technician will also be required to provide OSFI employees with one-on-one coaching and training regarding OSFI’s IM program and systems as well as providing IM and Records Management advice when required.
This selection process may be used to establish a pool of partially qualified and/or qualified candidates which could be used to staff similar positions at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

EDUCATION
- Successful completion of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in an area related to information management (library, record, or archival studies) OR a combination of education, information management training and experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Recent experience in the Information Management field specifically in records management of both paper and electronic records.
- Recent experience in providing Information and Records Management client support (including responding to client questions related to EDRMS functionality, records and information management policies, standards, and procedures, and troubleshooting EDRMS issues).
- Recent experience in providing records management services including subject analysis, file creation, information classification and safeguarding both paper and electronic records.
- Recent experience in retention and disposition practices for both electronic and paper records.
- Recent experience creating and delivering training on information management concepts, policies, standards, procedures and tools to groups and/or individual clients.
- Recent experience working with an Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS).
ASSET EDUCATION
- A Masters degree in an area related to information management (library, record, or archival studies).
ASSET EXPERIENCE
- Experience providing records management services in a federal government environment.
- Experience using SharePoint.
- Experience using Iron Mountain Connect.
