The main responsabilities of this position are as follows:
• Preparing and revising real property valuations, market studies and market analysis reports.
• Providing clients with specialized and strategic consultation services.
• Providing arm’s-length and independent quality assurance, reconciliation and approval functions for appraisals, market surveys and market analysis reports produced by third party appraisers.
• Identifying and clarifying critical assumptions which have an impact on value estimate and thus on the resulting business decisions.
• Coordinating evaluation studies used in negotiations or in matters related to real property.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process and may be used to staff one position on the taxation team and one position on the Market Value Assessment Team at Montreal (Place Bonaventure), in the Public Service of Canada with indeterminate tenure and various linguistic requirements (French essential or bilingual imperative (BBB/BBB)).

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology, statistics or administration or Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, library/archival work or a law-related field.
Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
An indeterminate incumbent of a former ES position on June 30, 1967 who became an EC on June 22, 2009, who does not possess the minimum level of education as indicated for Part A above is deemed to meet this minimum educational standard based on his/her education, training and/or experience.
Candidates with foreign educational credentials are required to provide proof of Canadian equivalency. For further information, please consult the Canadian Information Centre for International Credits at www.cicic.ca.
Accreditation by the Order of Chartered Appraisers of Quebec or Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada.
EXPERIENCES
- Two years of experience in commercial, industrial, and/or institutional real estate appraisal.
- Experience in the use of word processing and spreadsheet softwares.
