For both positions:
- Provide guidance and oversight to application designers and developers to ensure that solutions adhere to OSFI’s application architecture standards.
- Communicate and promote OSFI’s architecture vision and roadmap to stakeholders.
- Understand and analyze technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
- Identify and understand interdependencies between applications, services, infrastructure and related initiatives and provide advice and guidance for interdependency management and planning purposes.
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for the evolution of the enterprise application portfolio from current to future state.
Position 1:
Some of the key activities include:
- Design and direct the governance activities associated with ensuring application architecture assurance and compliance.
- Monitor the current-state application portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements. In consultation with the Enterprise Architect and the Application Services team, determine a schedule and lifecycle management methodology to address maintenance, upgrade, replacement and decommissioning cycles.
- Define the principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.
Position 2:
Some of the key activities include:
- Work closely with the Client Relationship Management team and the Business Architect to understand the functional and non-functional requirements for major IT investments and ensure that the requirements are documented to a sufficient level of detail to support options analysis.
- Under the leadership of the Enterprise Architect and in collaboration with other architects, analyze solution options, make recommendations and develop preliminary cost estimates in support of business cases for major IT investments, and to support strategies and studies conducted by the Enterprise Architecture team.
- Design and lead the implementation of solution architectures that address all architectural viewpoints (business, application, data/information, infrastructure, operations and security), based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities and business requirements.

EDUCATION
For both positions:
- Graduation with a degree* from a recognized university in computer science, information technology, information management or another field relevant to the position to be staffed.
*The term "degree" refers to a baccalaureate or a higher-level degree, as established by educational authorities.
EXPERIENCE
For both positions:
- Recent* and significant** experience in architecting IM/IT solutions based on key Microsoft platforms such as SharePoint, Dynamics 365, SQL Server and the .Net Framework.
- Recent* experience in architecting cloud-based or hybrid cloud solutions.
- Experience conducting options analyses to support the development of new solutions.
- Experience in developing and promoting recommendations that define a future-state enterprise architecture.
For position 1 only:
- Experience conducting industry research and publishing reports on topics such as emerging technology trends, market scans, etc.
- Significant** experience in providing application architecture guidance and advice to system development and software procurement initiatives within an organization.
*“Recent” is defined as having been acquired in the last 2 years.
**Significant means the depth and breadth of experience that is normally acquired by performing the tasks over a period of 5 years or more.
ASSET EDUCATION
For both positions:
- Master's degree in a field relevant to the position to be staffed.
- TOGAF 9 Certification (Level 1 or 2).
- Microsoft Certifications relevant to the duties of these positions.
ASSET EXPERIENCE
For both positions:
- Experience in developing future application architectures based on an organisation's business strategies and objectives.
- Experience in developing a cloud migration strategy.
- Experience in developing application modernization strategies.
- Experience working with an Enterprise Architecture tool.

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
