Assessment accommodation

Intent of the process

Although the immediate intent of this Job Opportunity Advertisement is to staff indeterminately, applicants should be aware that a pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements listed in the Language Requirements section. In addition, this process may be used for various tenures (acting appointments, assignment, deployment, indeterminate, specified period, secondment), security requirements and conditions of employment within Health Canada. As a result of the potential and possible use of the selection process and subsequent pool by hiring managers, we encourage all employees seeking this type of opportunity to apply.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:

Stream 1: Successful completion of two years of secondary school or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).

Note 1: The employer-approved alternatives to two years of secondary school are: A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to two years of secondary school; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Stream 2: A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

Degree equivalency

Experience:

For both streams:
E1 Experience in data entry AND retrieval.
E2 Experience in processing correspondence.
E3 Experience in general office duties.
E4 Experience in using word processing software, databases AND spreadsheets.

In addition to the above, the following is for stream 2 only:
E5 Experience in contributing to the development of quality-related procedures.
E6 Experience corresponding with and providing feedback to internal and/or external stakeholders.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience:

For both streams:
AE1 Experience working with documents containing medical terminology. (ie: as part of education or work experience)

For Stream 2
AE2 Experience in quality management activities

A1 Ability to plan, organize AND establish own work priorities.

A5 Ability to perform clerical tasks and general office duties quickly and accurately.
