Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this selection process is to staff three (3) positions on an indeterminate basis in the Toronto Office. A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions with various language requirements, locations and tenures within Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Law or Public Administration OR any other university degree combined with significant* work experience relevant to the position.

* Significant experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, which are normally acquired over a period of two (2) years. The work experience must have been obtained in one of the following fields: Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Law or Public Administration.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
- Recent** and significant*** experience in the interpretation and application of a legislated compliance program
- Recent** and significant*** experience in leading project teams or work teams with a minimum of 5 direct reports
- Significant*** experience in establishing partnerships/relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in investigating legal, financial or business information

**Recent experience means within the last five (5) years.
***Significant experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, which are normally acquired over a period of two (2) years.

Education:
- Law Degree
- Master’s degree in a related field such as Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Law or Public Administration

Degree equivalency

Professional Accreditation:
- Accounting Designation (CA, CMA, CPA, CGA)
- Licensed Insolvency Trustee license

Experience:
- Experience in interpreting and applying the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, rules or directives
- Experience in work-related court proceedings
- Experience in conducting facilitation, mediation and negotiation
- Experience in managing financial and human resources

Operational Requirements:
- The incumbent may be required to work overtime occasionally on short notice.
- The incumbent may have to travel including an overnight stay.
