Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff 2 positions on a determinate basis and 1 on an indeterminate basis. A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions within Elections Canada and the Office of the Commissioner of Canada Elections.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
Graduation from a post-secondary school program with an acceptable specialization in social science*, statistics, library or archival work,** or a law-related field.

Notes:
* Social science includes economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, history, psychology, geography, criminology and other disciplines associated with social science.
** Library or archival work includes gallery- and museum-type functions.

Degree equivalency

Experience* in compiling and analyzing information.

Experience* in at least one of the following areas:
• using systems for the management of data;
• updating databases records;
• writing and executing test scripts;
• writing procedures and documenting technical systems or processes.

*Minumum 6 months experience

A degree from a recognized university with an acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, library or archival work, or a law-related field.

Degree equivalency

Experience in testing software or systems.

Experience in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.

Experience in using geographic information systems (GIS) and databases.

Experience in using ArcGIS software (ArcGIS 10 and above).

Experience working in an electoral context.

Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL).
