Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff two (2) indeterminate bilingual imperative (BBB/BBB and CBC/CBC) positions in the Science Policy Integration Branch.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (assignment, secondment, acting, deployment, specified period or indeterminate), language requirements (English essential, bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.) and/or security requirements (reliability, secret, top secret).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in biology, chemistry, physics, geology, or another natural or applied science relevant to the position.

Note: The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.

Degree equivalency

Recent* and significant** experience in managing complex*** scientific projects for a large-scale**** program at the regional or national level.

Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams of science or non-science professionals.

Experience developing effective collaborations***** with government agencies, or community-based organizations, or industry, or academic organizations.

Experience managing financial and human resources.

Experience providing recommendations or strategic advice to senior management******.

*Recent experience is defined as experience gained within the last 5 years.
**Significant experience is defined as experience of at least 2 years.
***Complex scientific projects are defined as projects that require input, expertise and analysis from multiple sectors, organizations or disciplines.
****Large-scale program is defined as a program that is national in scope and involves external stakeholders.
*****Effective collaborations are defined as working with one or more other groups to successfully complete a task or achieve a goal, informally or formally governed by terms of reference and a workplan.
******Senior management is defined as Director Level (EX-01 or EX-01 equivalent) and above.
