Within a team of high-performing and dedicated IT professionals, the Senior Analyst is responsible for the development and ongoing support of the software that is used to help OSFI fulfill its mandate. The Senior Analyst is accountable for ensuring that application design puts long term supportability at the forefront, while ensuring alignment with OSFI's IM/IT standards and strategic objectives. The Senior Analyst will be expected to work both autonomously and as part of a team, often in a leadership capacity.

EDUCATION:
- Successful completion of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
EXPERIENCE:
- Significant experience* delivering business system solutions in a team environment.
- Significant experience* working with Microsoft SQL Server 2014 (or above).
- Significant experience* in providing 3rd level application support.
- Significant experience* developing server-based web applications with the .NET Framework.
- Experience developing on a SharePoint 2013 (or above) platform.
- Experience developing scripts with PowerShell.
- Experience writing and supporting unit tests.
* Significant experience is defined as “Experience that is normally acquired over the course of at least five years actively performing the duties on a regular basis”, where “actively performing the duties on a regular basis” means that at least two days out of a five day work week would typically be spent performing the duty.
ASSET EDUCATION:
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with an acceptable specialization in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or other related area.
ASSET CERTIFICATION:
- IT Service Management certification (for example, ITIL Foundation).
- Application development methodology certification (for example, Certified Scrum Developer).
- Microsoft technical certification (example, MCP, MCPD, MCSD, etc.).
ASSET EXPERIENCE:
- Experience following Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices.
- Experience using a formal System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.
- Experience working within an Agile (ex. Scrum) or DevOps-style SDLC.
- Experience performing software testing (for example, functional, integration, systems, load, or regression; writing automated tests, building test suites, using testing tools).
- Experience investigating or resolving IT Security issues or incidents
- Experience solving challenging technical problems
- Experience developing REST based web services with the .NET Framework.
- Experience working within an environment that leverages automated deployment mechanisms.

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
