The intent is to staff position(s) that are based in Winnipeg. The pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions throughout Fisheries and Oceans Canada on an indeterminate, term, secondment or acting basis.

A minimum of one year post-secondary education with specialization in a discipline related to the position, such as biology, ecology, natural resource management, economics or another discipline relevant to the duties of the position.
Experience consulting and/or collaborating with Indigenous groups, stakeholders, co-management agencies and/or other levels of government.
Recent* experience managing or coordinating activities relating to the protection, conservation or sustainable development of Canada’s natural resources.
* ”Recent” is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
Experience analyzing complex issues and providing strategic advice to senior management** on programs, policies or issues.
** “Senior Management” is defined as leaders of a private, public or community organization.
Initiative
University Degree in a field related to the position.
Experience with marine mammal fisheries resource management issues in Canada.
Experience with finfish fisheries resource management issues in Canada.
Experience with aquaculture management
Experience in the development of memorandums to Cabinet and/or Treasury Board submissions.
Experience representing your organization on a working group or committee.
Experience in administration of a grants and contribution program.
