Work environment

The Department of National Defence (DND) is one of the largest federal government employers. DND's role is to provide services and support to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in their operations and missions at home and abroad. Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff the above mentioned position. A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions on an indeterminate, term, deployment, assignment, secondment or acting basis.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or successful completion of a provincially/territorially approved secondary school equivalency test, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Note: Combination of education, training and/or experience is defined as two years secondary school plus five years working in a warehouse environment.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in the management of an annual budget.
- Experience in the procurement of goods.
- Experience in managing human resources or leading a team. Human resources management/team leadership is defined as, but not limited to: assigning work, managing performance, developing resourcing plans, determining needs, approving training.
- Experience in the shipping, receiving, issuing, storing, and inventory control of stock.
- Experience in providing customer service.
- Experience in materials record management.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite to include word and excel and outlook.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EDUCATION:
- First aid and CPR certificate.
- Workplace Hazardous Material information System certificate.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working in the Department of National Defence.
- Experience working with Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) or System Applications Products (SAP).
- Experience in handling and storage of dangerous goods (HAZMAT).
- Experience in the security of controlled goods.

OTHER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Possession of a Province of New Brunswick Class 5 Drivers License or other provincial/territorial equivalence.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DND 404 driving permit.
- Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Must be willing and able to work overtime and respond to emergency call-outs after normal working hours as required by the employer.
- Must be willing and able to work in extreme weather conditions and in confined spaces.
- Must be willing and able to lift objects up to 50 lbs from the floor to shoulder height.
