The Technical Maintenance Planner Coordinator (TMPC) assists the Production Manager by producing reports and providing recommendations to management on a broad range of subjects. Position duties include Configuration Change implementation for planning and scheduling; Preventative Maintenance routines for Ship and shore Electronic Assets; and Corrective maintenance outage times and trend data analysis to ensure clients needs and expectations are being met. The TMPC may be called upon to participate and assist with Quality Assurance Audits. TMPC also manages the Ships Radio Inspection program and the training activities for the division.

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) Technical Maintenance Planner Coordinator position in Sarnia, ON. A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the Canadian Coast Guard.

A secondary school diploma; AND
Completion of an acceptable training program in electronics technology (Note 1) OR the employer-approved alternative (Note 2)
Note 1: Normally, an acceptable training program in electronics technology involves the completion of two to three years of post-secondary study in this subject
Note 2: The employer–approved alternative is defined as having completed an electronics engineering technician program followed by five (5) years of on-the-job technical training and experience in repairs and installation of modems, landlines, navigational, communication, radars and/or sonar equipment OR having achieved the Canadian Forces developmental period 2 (DP2) in the field of communication, radar, sonar, or navigational systems
Experience performing inspections of marine and/or land based electronic equipment
Experience in the maintenance and/or installation of marine and/or land based electronic equipment
Experience providing advice and guidance to personnel and clients on maintenance and/or installation issues concerning marine and/or land based electronic equipment
Various language requirements

Secret security clearance
Able to work in an operational environment, including the occasional need to work overtime and on weekends
Possession of a valid driver’s license
Domestic travel by various modes of transportation (e.g. boat, automobile, plane, helicopter,etc.) and perform work at remote sites and/or on vessels at sea
Travel for extended periods for general duties and for training purposes. Travel could be required outside the regional area
Obtain and maintain a Health Canada scientific Cat III medical
