As part of a research project funded by AAFC's Pest Management Center, the following objectives will be pursued:
1. Evaluate different types of traps and sampling strategies of Japanese beetle in berry crops
2. Determine and quantify levels of parasitism by Istocheta aldrichi in different regions of Canada.
The Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Research and Development Centre (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu RDC) located in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec opened in 1912. It is one of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's (AAFC) network of 20 research and development centres.
AREAS OF RESEARCH
The Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu RDC helps the Canadian horticultural sector to stay competitive and sustainable by developing new knowledge and technologies in the field of horticultural crop protection, while taking a biovigilance and precision agriculture approach. The centre is one of seven sites where field trials on potential pest management tools and technologies trials are conducted for AAFC’s Minor Use Pesticide Program.

Currently enrolled/or willing to enroll in a Bachelor’s or Master’s or PhD program in a recognize post-secondary institution with specialization in: Biology, Entomology.
Experience in conducting research projects in entomology.
Note: Students recruited by the federal public service may have gained experience through education, work, or volunteer activities.
