AS-02 – Case Review Officer
The work of a Case Review Officer at the Parole Board of Canada is to ensure that the legal deadlines and other requirements set out in the decision-making policies and the Act are met by rigorously tracking files, analyzing documents and information so that Board Members (decision-makers) can make quality decisions. The Case Review Officer regularly communicates with various partners to meet documentation needs as part of the decision-making process. Finally, he conducts a final review of offenders' files and is called upon to provide advice to various stakeholders to facilitate the decision-making process and answer questions from Board Members.
AS-03 – Hearing Officer
The work of the Hearing Officer at the Parole Board of Canada is to analyze information, prepare working documents identifying key risk factors, conduct final audits of offenders' files and provide advice and expertise to facilitate quality decision-making by Board members (decision-makers). The Hearing Officer ensures that procedural safeguards and the requirements of the Act and decision-making policies are respected during hearings. Finally, he participates in the finalization of the decision and ensures post-decisional follow-up.

The immediate need is to staff one (1) full-time AS-03 indeterminate position.
The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates for future AS-02 and/or AS-03 vacancies. The pool will be used to staff positions on a permanent (indeterminate) and/or temporary basis (acting, specified period appointment, assignment or secondment) within the Parole Board of Canada in the Montreal Region. The linguistic profile and tenure may vary depending on the position being staffed.

EDUCATION

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.
Notes:
The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:

- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

KNOWLEDGE
AS-02 & AS-03:
- Knowledge of Part II of the Corrections and Conditional Release Act (S.C. 1992, c. 20 - Sections 99 to 102, 122 to 123 and 133) and of the Decision-Making Policy Manual for Board Members of the Parole Board of Canada (Chapters 4, 5 and 7).
AS-03 only:
- Knowledge of Section 2.1 of the Decision-Making Policy Manual for Board Members of the Parole Board of Canada.
ABILITIES
