The Department of National Defence (DND) is one of the largest federal government employers, offering over 70 different types of civilian career opportunities. DND's role is to provide services and support to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in their operations and missions at home and abroad. As a civilian employee, you will be an essential part of the Defence Team. This process will be used to staff the above-mentioned positions with a language requirement of English Essential. It may also be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates which could be used to staff similar positions with various security levels, tenures, language requirements and linguistic profiles (English Essential, Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC).

EDUCATION
Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in electrical engineering technology or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
EXP1.* Recent experience in electrical engineering technology and practices for the installation, modification, and distribution of North American commercial grade building electrical systems and/or utilities.
EXP2. Experience in electrical design.
EXP3. Experience in using a personal computer utilizing MS office suite software applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
*Recent experience means within 5 years

K2. Knowledge of applicable codes (National Building Code, Canadian Electrical Code, and Canadian Fire Code) and regulations associated with engineering design functions.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requirement to work overtime when required.
Requirement to travel or deploy to construction sites around the world.
Reliability Status security clearance - This process will be used to staff the abovementioned positions with a Reliability security clearance. It may also be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates which could be used to staff similar positions with various security levels (i.e. Secret, Reliability and Top Secret).
- Must be able to obtain a Canadian passport.
