Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff positions at the CR-04 group and level within the Canadian Coast Guard with employment tenures, language requirements, security requirements, conditions of employment and work locations that will vary depending on the needs of the positions being staffed.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
A Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience providing client services (in person, by phone or in writing).
• Experience in providing administrative support**
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

** While not exhaustive, the provision of administrative support services could include: electronic calendar management for others, processing of travel requests, financial processing (invoice, purchase orders, etc.), processing of correspondence, coordination of administrative activities, logistical organization of conferences or videoconferences, preparation of contextual documents for meetings, etc.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience providing financial support services in one (1) or more of the following:
• Reconciling financial transactions;
• Verifying and paying invoices;
• Extracting, reconciling, interpreting and compiling financial information for use by management;
• Preparing budgets and financial spreadsheets;
• Creating contracts and/or purchase orders.
- Experience in providing administrative support in contracting, procurement services or materiel management
- Experience providing human resources services and support such as staffing, compensation and/or the application of the collective agreements
- Experience using human resources systems such as the MariTime, Peoplesoft, Phoenix, etc.
- Experience in entering and extracting data into/from a database or computer system
- Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint
