IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING THE EVALUATION

Supervised exams of the Public Service Commission will be administered to successful candidates following the evaluation of their resume. Please note that these supervised exams can only be administered in the following cities: Gatineau, Montreal, Toronto, Halifax, Québec and Vancouver. If you are invited, you will have to be able to present yourself to these evaluation at one of the places mentioned, otherwise your application will no longer be considered. Please note that applicants will not be reimbursed by the Department for travel expenses related to the evaluation process; however, the Department is committed to minimizing the costs to candidates who will participate in the assessment process.

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be established from this process to staff positions within the Public Service and Procurement Canada with varying duration (indeterminate, term, part-time or casual appointments), and various language requirements.

Casual employment: Casual workers are hired for specified periods that may not exceed 90 working days in one calendar year, in a department or in an agency to which the Public Service Commission (PSC) has exclusive authority to make appointments.

Education

• Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics; OR
• Possession of the Government of Canada Financial Management Certificate.

Degree equivalency

Experience

EX1. Recent ** experience* in providing customer service

EX2: Recent** experience* in preparing reports (including activities such as extracting, compiling and analyzing information) OR, in Financial Operations.

*For the purposes of this selection process “Experience” is defined as the experience normally associated with performing the activity for at least twelve (12) months

**For the purposes of this selection process “Recent” is defined as experience having normally been acquired within the last five (5) years

Asset - Education

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics.

Possess a recognized professional Accounting Designation (i.e. CA, CMA, CGA, or CPA).
