There is an immediate need to staff on a term (temporary) basis. This selection process may create a pool of qualified candidates to be used to staff this or similar positions within Fisheries and Oceans Canada in the Newfoundland and Labrador Region on an indeterminate, specified period (term), acting, deployment, secondment, or assignment basis.

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized University with an acceptable specialization in environment, physics, geology, chemistry, biology, engineering or other sciences related to the position.
Experience:
Experience in assisting with key environmental management issues (related to fuel storage tanks, halocarbons, hazardous materials and environmental emergency response plans),
or
Experience in assisting with the development and implementation of environmental management systems.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of the acts, regulations, policies, standards and procedures related to the protection of the environment.
Knowledge of environmental management systems (EMS), ISO 14001.
Abilities:
Ability to identify compliance issues and report effectively.

Asset Qualifications:
-Greater than two (2) years experience in assisting with key environmental management issues such as hazardous materials, fuel storage tanks, halocarbons, and/or solid waste management.
-Greater than two (2) years experience in working with environmental management systems
