EDUCATION: Graduation with a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering Technology, or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience using electronic test and measurement equipment.
• Demonstrated experience in the design, building, or assembly of mechanical equipment (e.g. demonstrated by hands-on skills in woodworking, metal working, vehicle repair, machining, or equivalent).
• Collecting, recording, reducing, and reporting experimental results.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience planning and conducting tests or measurements.
• Depth and breadth of experience in troubleshooting instrumentation or machinery.
• Experience working as part of a technical or scientific team.
• Experience in data analysis for scientific or technical applications.
• Calibrating test equipment.
• Depth and breadth of experience in using X-ray systems.
• Depth and breadth of experience in performing material testing.
• Experience as the principal point of contact or lead technologist.
• Performing explosion dynamics research on energetic materials and blast effects.
• Use of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must be willing and able to perform work that is occasionally physically demanding and repetitive in nature.
• Must be willing and able to work in a outdoors field environment in occasionally adverse weather conditions.
• Must be willing to work occasional overtime.
• Must be willing and able to obtain and retain a DND 404 licence.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Reliability security clearance. Must be willing to obtain and retain a Secret (Level II) security clearance.
