A qualified candidate may be offered the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications. However, asset criteria and may be invoked at any point of the staffing process by the hiring manager, including for being a deciding factor in choosing the candidate
The ability to communicate effectively in writing will be evaluated throughout the application and the written exam.

Library and Archives Canada offers a number of advantages:
1) We have our own compensation service and compensation advisors are available on site. LAC is not serviced by the Pay Centre.

4) Our offices are located at 550 de la Cité Boulevard in Gatineau (Gatineau sector) near: Parc O bus, the Maison du citoyen, the Gatineau Sports Center and near bike paths. Our public service building are located at 395 Wellington Street in Ottawa, near

The intent of this process is to staff indeterminate or term positions with various durations.
A pool of qualified candidates** will be established and will may be used to staff identical or similar positions within Library and Archives Canada using various languages requirements and/or various tenures according to the positions being staffed.
** Please note that two differents pools of qualfied candidates will be establish, one for Bilingual positions and another for English or French Essentiel positions.

A response to a text question addressing the following:
Education :
Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in information science, archival science, library science, social sciences, humanities, public administration or some other specialty relevant to the position.
Experience :
•Experience performing various research projects using archival or historical sources
•Experience writing substantial documents such as an article, thesis, report, or publication.
•Experience in using online and analog research tools as part of a research project or in a professional environment.
Various language requirements

Future needs: English or French essential**

•Experience in processing or describing specialized media (architecture, art, audiovisual, cartography, philately or photography).
•Experience in working with digital archives.
•Experience in interpreting or applying Access to Information and Privacy legislation either provincially or federally
Operational requirements :
