Duties

Duties include project management, human resources, and financial tracking.

Work environment

Duties will be performed in a correctional environment, at Mission Institution.

Intent of the process

To staff one anticipated position on a determinate basis (for approximately 4 months to 1 year). A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to fill similar positions of permanent or temporary tenures within Correctional Service Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION

Secondary school diploma or a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience in the construction field.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience in supervision of construction related projects with multiple subcontractors.
Experience in planning and estimating construction projects.
Experience in the use of computers and software programs such as Microsoft, Word, Excel and Outlook

EDUCATION

Possession of a Provincial Journeyman Certificate in a construction trade (carpenter, electrician, plumber or other acceptable trade) or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience in any field relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience with Microsoft Project training /education.
Experience in working with or supervising offenders.
Experience with managing contracts.

Knowledge of building codes, acts, regulations, policies and other relevant safety legislation.

Ability to plan and implement projects.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
