Education:
Graduation with a Masters degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in a biological science; such as biology, biochemistry, immunology or microbiology with specialization in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry or biotechnology.
Experience:
Experience in the development of microbiology and molecular biology techniques for the detection and identification of bacterial, viral or parasitic pathogens.
Experience in designing, conducting and troubleshooting new techniques and approaches in microbiology and molecular biology.
Experience in the preparation of written scientific reports, and in the delivery of scientific presentations.
Asset Experience:
Experience using genomic approaches including large dataset analysis.

Knowledge of microbiological and molecular biology techniques and principles.
Knowledge of emerging technologies and principles related to foodborne pathogen detection and identification.
Knowledge of foodborne bacterial and viral pathogens and their safe handling.
Knowledge in experimental design and troubleshooting of techniques in microbiology and molecular biology.
Abilities:
Ability to plan, conduct and assess experimental studies in the area of microbiology and molecular biology
Ability to evaluate, analyse and interpret experimental data.
