Assessment accommodation

Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis in Ottawa, Ontario.

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the Health Portfolio with:

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics AND a specialization in epidemiology or public health or another relevant health discipline.

Notes:
Candidates must always have a degree.

The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but do not necessarily have to be part of a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
E1- Experience chairing multi-disciplinary committees
E2- Experience in designing and conducting systematic reviews
E3 –Experience presenting research information in the area of chronic or communicable disease prevention.
E4 – Experience working with internal partners and external stakeholders including non-governmental organizations

Note:
*Experience means having the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of the duties for a minimum period of two (2) years within the last ten (10) years.

K1 – Knowledge of health-research methodology and clinical epidemiology.
K2 – Knowledge of chronic disease prevention within primary care practice
K3 – Knowledge of development of clinical practice guidelines

A3- Ability to analyze and present complex clinical data
A4- Ability to work independently and under pressure

Education:
Asset 1 – Graduation with a Master degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a health related field or in epidemiology.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Asset 2 * – Having at least one published scientific paper in a peer reviewed journal or conference as an author.
Asset 3 – Experience of methodological approaches to clinical practice guideline development ( ex. Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE))
Asset 4 - Experience writing clinical or public health practice guidelines.
