As a Senior Technologist, Electromagnetic Compatibility you will be responsible:
- to deliver electromagnetic compatibility test service on hardware used for aerospace and terrestrial applications.
- to provide technical services, technical support, technical advice and test services related to electronic systems and components within the Radio Frequency Qualification Facilities (RFQF) of the David Florida Laboratory (DFL).
- to support other tests activities provided by the RFQF Group, including antenna characterization and high power RF tests related to aerospace and terrestrial applications.

The objective of this appointment process is to staff a position as Senior Technologist, Electromagnetic Compatibility at the EL-06 group and level. If no candidates qualify at this level, we could use this process to staff a position as Technologist, Radio Frequency Qualification at the EL-05 (annual salary range: $66,605 to $81,666) or EL-04 (annual salary range: $60,072 to $73,633) levels. A pool of qualified or partially assessed candidates may be established from this process and may be used to staff identical or similar positions with various language requirements, tenures and security requirements.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma and completion of an acceptable training program in electronics technology.
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Note: Normally, an acceptable training program in electronics technology involves the completion of two to three years of post-secondary study in this subject.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 years of experience in each of the following areas:
• in performing electromagnetic compatibility tests
• in developing and/or modifying software used to control laboratory instruments
• in evaluating technical documents, test procedures, and test plans and in writing test reports and technical documents.

EDUCATION
Training courses in electromagnetic compatibility testing
EXPERIENCE WITH:
• military standard MIL-STD 461 series
• aeronautical standard RTCA/DO-160
• space station standard SSP 30237/30238

Information on language requirements
KNOWLEDGE:
Measurement techniques used to characterize performance of RF, analog and digital equipment.
Knowledge of RF circuitry, antennas and radio waves propagation.
