The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is Canada's second largest law enforcement organization, working 24/7 to protect Canada's borders by preventing high-risk people and goods from crossing into Canada while facilitating legitimate trade and travel, with over 15,000 employees working across Canada.

EDUCATION:
- Successful completion of two years of secondary school or employer-approved alternatives*
*The employer-approved alternatives to two years of secondary school are:
- A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to two years of secondary school; or
- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, outlook, or programs similar to these applications.
- Experience providing service to clients by telephone, in person or in writing.
ASSET EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working with the Systems Applications Products (SAP).
- Experience working with the Government of Canada’s various documents and records management systems (GCDOCs).
- Experience providing administrative support services to management.
- Experience working in an enforcement or security organization.
- Experience using an electronic filing system.
ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS:

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

- Possess and maintain a valid unrestricted driver’s license, or the mobility normally associated with the possession of a valid driver’s license
- Lift and carry light-weight objects such as file boxes, supplies, equipment, laptops, etc.
- Some positions may require one to work various shifts, including evening, nights and weekends.
- Some positions may require Secret security clearance.

Rather you must clearly demonstrate HOW, WHEN, and WHERE the qualification was met through substantiation by examples. Failure to provide the above information in the format required may result in your application being rejected from the process.
You may be assessed using a variety of assessment tools, such as, but not limited to: standardized tests, written exams, interviews, simulation exercises, reference checks, self-assessments, candidate achievement record, etc.
Please note that your overall conduct and communications, including email correspondence, throughout the entire process may be used in the assessment of qualifications and competencies.
You must provide proof of your education credentials. You will be advised to provide the documents later in the process. If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian education standards. Management may choose to invoke asset qualifications at any point of the process.
For appointment processes where the area of selection was limited to Aboriginal peoples or to members of designated employment equity groups that included Aboriginal peoples, the Aboriginal candidates proposed for appointment or appointed must complete and sign the Affirmation of Aboriginal Affiliation Form as a condition of appointment prior to or at the same time as the offer of appointment, even if they have already self-declared as an Employment Equity member when applying.
Achieving a representative workforce has been identified as an organizational need in the merit criteria, and shall be applied in this appointment process. Consequently, only applicants who have indicated on their application that they are a member of the designated group will be considered.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
